Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions about extracting frames from video, in one place.
Frequently asked questions
What does the tool do?+
It pulls still images out of a video. You upload a clip, choose how many frames or what FPS, and download the resulting screenshots.
Which video formats are supported?+
Any format your browser can decode — including MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, and MKV. AVI and MKV support depends on your browser's built-in codecs.
How do I extract frames by FPS?+
Switch the extraction mode to FPS and use the slider to set 1–30 frames per second. The tool samples the whole clip at that rate.
Can I take a specific number of screenshots from a video?+
Yes. Use Count mode and pick 1 to 100 evenly-spaced screenshots.
How do I download all screenshots as a ZIP?+
After extraction, tap Save and the tool packages every selected frame into a single ZIP archive.
Should I export as JPG or PNG?+
JPG for smaller files where the source is photographic. PNG when you need lossless quality, for example for design work or further editing.
Is there a video length limit?+
Videos up to about 5 minutes work reliably. Longer files may slow down depending on your device.
Does the video leave my device?+
The extraction itself runs in your browser. A small sample of frames is stored for 10 days for quality monitoring — see the privacy policy.
Will the quality match the original?+
Yes. Frames are decoded straight from the video at full resolution. JPG export is high-quality (≈92%); PNG is lossless.
Does it work on a phone?+
Yes. The interface adapts to small screens and uses your phone's native share sheet to save individual frames.
